Independence Day celebrations to begin on 25July - Ministry

Ministry of Home Affairs have revealed that 45th Independence Day celebrations will commence in Male’ and in atolls on 25th of this month.

State Minister for Home Affairs Adil Ahmed briefing the media at Fansavees Maalum yesterday said that celebrations to mark the 25th Independence Day will be opened to public and will be carried out at as cheaply as possible due to current economic difficulties.

He said unlike previous years, the official reception hosted by the president will not be held and that in addition to Male’, official celebrations will be at Ha Huvarafushi.

Human Resources, Youth and Sports Minister Hassan Latheef speaking at a news conference held on Wednesday to brief the media on the government policies has said that applications will be invited for over 200 scholarships provided by Limkok Wing University of Malaysia in the next 2-3 weeks.
